Dear Mrs. Parrish,

I would like to thank you for being such a great teacher this year. I am having such a great time in your classroom and am sure there will be loads of memorable stories to tell by the time this year is over. If you continue teaching the way you do now you will defiantly be everyone’s favourite teacher, I know you are already mine.

There is so many things to thank you for this year. First of all you have a great sense of humour that brightens my day. I think it is a good way how you to teach kid in your class to stop what they are doing by teasing them in a ‘not too mean way’. Everyone has to love your humour.

I’m now interested in football and am following the Roughriders very closely. Those oreo cookies and chocolate chip cookies were delicious. I really hope I can perfect that recipe by the end of the year. You are a fabulous cookie chef.

All the effort you put into different activities really shows off. For example the field trip had lots of work put into it. I could tell by the bus, the MNR group, the chaperons and thinking of the learning benefit and how it will effect the classroom. Effort is a sign of a well made teacher.

Connecting to effort is willing to take some time to make your students happy. I really appreciate you taking me to the Carbon Nation movie presentation. I enjoy the thought and time put into that trip. I absorbed a whole lot of information on that trip and hope I will learn more during the year. Thought and time is another amazing teacher feature.

I absolutely loved getting the laptops, I think that was the best part of the year so far, I mean besides getting you as a teacher. If you didn’t have patience we wouldn’t be where we are today with the laptops. By the end of the year I just hope to know as much as you with technology.

I know there will be so many more thank yous to say for all the things you do for the class and for me. I don’t know how I am going to fit them into a thank you letter. Thanks again.

Sincerely,

A G.L.C. student

Dear Mrs. Parrish,

Hi, it’s Brent. I would like to thank you for everything you’ve done this year. You’ve gave this class of students laptops, stuff to read, stuff to create, and fun in their lives.

The students in my group and I would like to thank you for the laptops, the first thing you gave us this year. “This is so cool” some of the students exclaimed. Next we would like to thank you for the 2 books you gave your time to read instead of us doing it alone. “I love this book,” a student said. We also want to thank you for the cookies. They were delicious but the Oreo ones weren’t my favorite. “The chocolate cookies were awesome,” a student said, proudly. The trip to the Boreal Forest was AWESOME and fun. “That was the best field trip of my life” exclaimed a couple of students. Another thing is the blogs, as they give us some responsibility.

So thank you for everything. Thank you for something to make, like creating blogs however we want, reading aloud, and making class fun.

Sincerely,

a G.L.C. student

Dear Mrs.Parrish,

Thank you for taking the class on the trip to the Boreal Forest. I had a real great time and learned a lot of new things.

I learned the difference between animal disturbance and human disturbance. I enjoyed learning how you can see that there was evidence of a fire in a certain area. I enjoyed learning about how you can tell the difference of a moose and a deer tracks. I learned the beaver can cause a big disaster with its dams that it makes it can flood areas. I learned that a type of beggars tick can make your skin get a rash.I liked it when we learned about the beaver and its dams.

I had a lot of fun learning about different animals. I really enjoyed the trip and I wish we could go again.

Sincerely,

a GLC student

Dear Jenn,

I’m writing because I would like to thank you for improving my
skating, teaching me many new moves such as a camel spin and a star jump. I really appreciate these efforts and can’t wait for you to teach me more this year!

I would also like to thank you for helping organize the carnival, coming up with routines for us, and for picking music out that you think we can connect too. You even give up your free time to coach us three days a week which is very highly appreciated by all the Star Skaters and Can Skaters. One-on-one lessons are a great benefit for all the stars skaters because it gives us the opportunity to practice at our level instead of trying to work in a group. You help make all these things possible. Thank you!

All these amazing things would not be possible without you!

Sincerely,

A G.L.C. student

Dear Robert and Miles,

I would like to thank you for putting your time and effort into teaching our class about the Boreal Forest.  We really appreciate not only learning but actually seeing a lot of different things in the Boreal Forest that we would have never seen in the classroom.

We really enjoyed seeing the beaver dam and learning how a beaver dam can flood the area it is built in, going to see the machines used to clear cutting and having a chance to climb on the huge piles of logs, we also loved going to see the Red Pine Tree Site. I also really thought it was interesting when you told us how you fly over an open area that has already been clear cut and drop seeds to plant new trees. I think that is really cool!

Thank you for taking the time to teach our class about the Boreal Forest.

Sincerely,

A GLC student

Dear Mr.Reid and Ms.Robson,

Our class would like to thank you for giving us an extra gym class when our teachers go tomeetings.  Also to thank you guys by making all the fun games.

I wanted to say that I wanted to thank you for all the fun and cool games.  When we did
the puzzle game it was hard not to look on the back for the symbol.  Another one is the gamewhen you guys shouted out a word, for example lets say “If someone has a pet at home or at Grandparent’s house!”  We also want to thank you for not making any running games in thegym because we know people can get hurt…like running into people and also falling downand skinning your knee or arm or falling down when you bump into somebody. Plus another one is when we did a game where we had a partner and we had to stand onthe black line and we had to stand across from our partner and you had to yell outsomething like you yell out “link arms” and we run and link arms. One more thing is whenyou guys is for help us with team building.
We want to thank you again for coming to our school and teaching us new stuff. We appreciate you.

Sincerely,

A GLC student

Dear Mrs. Parrish

Hi, the reason I am writing this letter is because I want to thank you for taking us to the Boreal Forest. Thank you so much for taking our class to the Boreal Forest. It was really fun. I know I will never forget the day we went there.

The reason I had a blast was because our class got to go to a burnt down forest from 30 years ago. I could tell everyone had a great time because we got to see a beaver dam and some of us saw a ruffed grouse partridge. It was neat because that is what I did my research on. I learned a lot of neat things about the forest like the bottom of the tree usually dies before the top of the tree because it doesn’t get as much sunlight as the top does. Another thing I learned was the different animal disturbances like how the fire destroyed animals homes and made them move to a different place.

I will never forget the amazing sights and memories. It was the best field trip EVER! So thank-you so much for the wonderful time the class and I had.

Yours truly,

 A GLC student

Dear Ms. Battison,

Hello, I wanted to thank you for becoming our soccer coach. It took time after school and I, as well as others appreciate this. You have not only created a team but also brought every student closer to each other.

You took a couple of players who were not the best and turned them into skilled soccer players. You pushed us and taught us to play like a team. You stayed at least an hour and a half every practice day to work on skills and team play. Some students were used to just running like bees after the ball; you taught them position. Kindness was also a great thing, you encouraged everybody to do their best. You made jokes and made sure that everybody had as much fun as possible, which is admiring.

Thank you for being our coach for soccer. You surely are a great asset to Golden Learning Centre, and an awesome role model.

Thanks again,

A GLC Student

Dear Robert,

Thank you for taking us down Dixie Lake Road and teaching us about the bush and how they seed the ground from an airplane. I really learned alot about the bush.

Our class really enjoyed learning about the bush. I can almost guarantee that our favourite part was when we went to the construction site where they were cutting down trees and using the huge equipment, I think the favourite part for the boys was when we kinda went 4x4ing in the bus on the way to the construction site. That part was super cool. It was also cool how close we got to the beaver dam. I remember when some of us said “ Wow we are really close to the dam!!” I was really into when we were comparing the two sides of the road where they seeded and thinned and just seeded and left it. I was thinking that day about if i get into working in the bush what job I wanted to do in the bush.

I really want to thank you for taking us into the bush because some of the kids in our class might not get the chance to do that in their life, so i thank you. I know how long it takes to organize something like this and it takes a lot of time. I really hope we get to do this again sometime. Thanks again.

Sincerely

Dear Mrs.Parrish,

I would like to thank you for our wonderful trip to the Boreal Forest.  I think it was a great learning opportunity for our class to see all kinds of interesting things and to then learn about them in great detail.  I think this class trip was greatly appreciated by all students who were able to participate.

This trip let us learn about our boreal forest and how forest fires affect them.  I learned that usually the top branches of a tree gets more sun than the  branches near the trunk.  This means branches nearest to  the trunk are weaker than the top branches.  To stop this, people who work in the forests have cut down tress to give others close to them  more space so they can get the sun, rain and nutrients they need to grow big and tall.

I also learned that when a large amount of trees are burnt down from a forest fire big machines will cut down the trees, clear the area and then a plane will go on top of this area throwing seeds to the ground so in 40 years new trees will grow big and strong.

In conclusion this trip was a great learning experience and was much enjoyed  by the Golden Learning Centre Public School grade seven class.

Sincerely,

A GLC Student

Dear.Mrs. Parrish

I am writing to you to thank you for being the best teacher anyone could ask for. I can thank you for three billion things but I can only fit very much on this page.

You are one of the very few teachers that loves to be called evil, dangerous, and strict. You always do things the way you want them to be. You taught both of my sisters and one of them was your favorite student. I hope you teach us next year and I don’t have to worry about losing points, so I can be bad. HAHA! I don’t want to leave this class-room no matter how scary and dangerous. I love this grade 7 class-room.

I hope you can still scare me next year. Write me back.

Dear Mrs. Norlock

I would like to thank you for organizing the Red Lake Road Run. It was a great way to fundraise money for the RLDHS Athletic Program and to get kids and adults to participate in an active event.

I noticed that you put a lot of thought into it. For example The Red Lake Road Run gave you a chance to choose if you wanted to run 5k, 10k, 21.1k and you could run/walk from any age. Also there were stops for water if you  were thirsty, signs that told you which way you had to go, and if you weren’t feeling good there were ambulances. Then when you finished you got a picture with the Rams mascot. Also  there were treats, fruits, drinks, a ten minute free massage and you got a shirt to wear to remember.

The Red Lake Road Run was not like any other fundraiser. You had fun, exercised and you were giving money to help the RLDHS Athletic Program. I enjoyed it along with many others. I hope that this continues for a long time.
Thank you!

Thank you for taking our class to the Boreal Forest.  It was fun being in the forest.

We went on fun bumpy roads and it felt like the bus was going to tip over, just like a Rock and Roll ride.  I liked the plants and fungus that Mr. Partridge told us about.  It was really fun to see a beaver dam and the animal tracks.

We would have to stay in class doing work, but you took us to the Boreal Forest. Thank you again.

We would like to thank you for organizing the Terry Fox Run. It was a lot of fun and everything else that you did for us.

One favorite thing was the warm up because every year we always do the Chicken Dance and I really liked watching everyone and I really like watching Mr.Reid doing the Chicken Dance. That was one of the best things of the Terry Fox Run. And I really liked that when we were done the run we got to come back and play basketball and we did not have to go inside. And thank you for brnging Mr.Reid and Mrs.Robenson to GLC. I had so much fun and I think everyone did. So, again thank you for that too. I think that this year is going to be a pretty good year.

Thank you again for everything that you did for us and everything that you planned and I hope there is more and if there is I know it will be fun because you planned it.

Dear Epic Games

I think you made the Game of the Year. Gears of War 3 was a big success and the amount of detail you put on that game was amazing.

It’s like no other game and that is what makes it good. The multiplayer is awesome. The one thing you could change is the double barrel shot gun. That gun is way too powerful but overall the game is balanced and awesome and that is another reason why I thank you. The Horde mode is awesome and really well produced and as well, balanced. The feature of every ten rounds there is a boss round was a great idea but the downside is that there is only 50 waves. I think you should have made the horde mode unlimited but over all it’s still awesome so that is another reason why I thank you. Beast mode was OK but not the best but still well produced.

Your games are awesome and I enjoy them.

Dear Ms Cianci,

In September you held a few different things that were for our school such as the Terry Fox Run, Welcome Back Night, You made all the permission slips for the sports and other outings. Thank you for doing all of this for us to make our school better.

The Terry Fox Run was awsome and it was a good way to get everybody in our school to get out and get active. All the kids in the school looked like they were having a good time and they enjoyed it. One class that I thought did the best job was the Senior Kindergarden kids. They had signs that were supporting Terry Fox. Thank you for also getting Mrs Storey to do the warm up. It was a blast ,The last thing was that you had organized the O.P.P to come and drive around to watch the kids. Thanks for thinking of our safety.

Another big thing was Welcome Back Night. It was a good way to get to know the teachers and show your parents what your classroom looks like. Also one of the hits were the food almost everybody had got somthing to eat or drink. Thank you for holding this event.

This is going to make are school a better place and thank you for all of you time and effort, hope you are enjoying our school.

In the winter of December 2007, you took your time to organize a ski trip to Mackenzie Island. We all got a set of skis and then we went to Mackenzie Island. When we got there someone arrived with your three dogs. We got ready and set off on an adventure on the black trail. I was failing so bad! Finally after half way I got a drink and started owning every one and finished and when we came back to GLC, we ate popcorn and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks.
