GLC 7/8 students participated in the Project Alert kick start today! This 11 week program is led by community volunteers (from various organizations) and addresses the pro-drug culture that many of our students face as they head into their teens.
Today’s lesson began with the group establishing participation and discussion norms for the 11 weeks. From that, students began to explore the reasons people choose to (or choose not t0) smoke cigarettes and marijuana. A lot of great ideas were shared amongst the students (and some of these ideas even got “myth-busted” right away!). With today’s great start, it’s evident the next 10 lessons will be valuable learning for our students.
