Well, they made a ROYAL mess! But they loved it, and they learned something (I think!). 😉
Yesterday, in an introductory lesson to our Fluids Unit, the students made Magic Mud out of corn starch, water and food coloring. They loved playing with it and examining its properties! In fact, they became more and more interested in its movement as the period progressed. It was fabulous to see their interest and exploratory thinking.
And, the best part? They even cleaned up after themselves! It’s true! The classroom was in pretty good shape as the day ended. That’s saying something!
Next step: Examining Viscosity (anyone have good lesson ideas?)
